Welcome Officers Brandt and Carbo

Two new police officers were sworn in by Mayor Sharon Torres.  Officer Kevin Brandt, from Queens, comes to us after serving seven years with the NYPD, following in the footsteps of his grandfather and uncle.  Brandt studied Criminal Justice at Molloy College where he played rugby.

Officer Jose Carbo, from the Bronx, has four years’ experience with NYPD.  Carbo set out to be a lawyer, studying pre-law until a personal experience with a robbery changed his life and he turned to law enforcement.

Board Votes on Consent Agenda

Six initiatives discussed at the August 11th meeting of the Board of Trustees (BOT) were approved unanimously.  These include authorizing the Village Manager to prepare and release a Request for Proposals (RFP) for a Master Plan for our parks and replacing the outdoor movie screen and audio system.

Public Hearings Delayed

Two changes to the Village Code – establishing the Office of Auditor and changes to Garbage removal are still not ready for prime time as the BOT had comments and the Village Attorney has more work to do.  Stay tuned.
