With the familiar hum of their 60,000-pound trucks approaching, we know they’re on their way, silently maintaining the order of our neighborhoods. To express my gratitude, I decide to learn more about the man behind the wheel on my street - Vinny Crupi. A Morning with Vinny My ride-along

Should the Village of Mamaroneck Save LMC?
by Kathy Savolt - It was standing room only at the April 13, 2026 meeting of the Board of Trustees (BOT) as word spread that the Village of Mamaroneck was thinking about reducing its payment to LMC Media (LMC) through its current budget process. Traffic and Flood Risks at Busy Section of Mamaroneck Avenue
by Meg Yergin - Many Village residents are familiar with sitting through multiple traffic-light cycles on Mamaroneck Avenue. The stretch between Waverly Avenue and the Metro-North overpass near Columbus Park is particularly congested during peak commuting hours — slowing parents getting children to school, residents heading to work, and potentially emergency response vehicles. A proposed 60-unit mixed-use development at 546 Mamaroneck Avenue could add to that pressure. T

Curbing Bad Actors
by Kathy Savolt - One of the many things that make our Village so special is the small businesses call Mamaroneck home. Their presence along the Avenue and throughout the community gives the Village the small-town feel so many of us value. While most of these businesses operate honestly and provide good service and positive experiences for their customers, there are some bad actors who flaunt our laws and regulations. To address this, Police Chief PJ Trujillo asked that

Residents Ask For Mosquito Relief
by Kathy Savolt The ink was not even dry on the Tentative Budget before a group of Village residents had an issue with the lack of funding for mosquito control in Guion and Otter Creeks. A forty-year program to responsibly address mosquitoes was removed from the budget this year and was not added back in next year’s budget. The History and Non-toxic Solution Apparently dating back to 1987 (see 1989 New York Times article HERE ), Village staff placed granular, bacteria-b
