At its Annual Barbecue hosted at Hampshire Country Club, the Mamaroneck Chamber of Commerce officially launched “Welcome to Mamaroneck,” a beautification initiative developed in collaboration with the Village of Mamaroneck.  Chamber President Michael Murphy marked the occasion by presenting a $500 donation to the Village to kick off the campaign.

The project’s first phase will focus on enhancing the visual appeal of the Central Shopping District, starting with a prominent “Welcome to Mamaroneck” sign, surrounded by landscaped plantings, to greet visitors and residents alike.

Chamber Board Member and Government Liaison Joseph Mileto of AJM Property Consulting introduced the initiative to nearly 100 attendees.  “We’re asking the business community to be part of the process,” Mileto said.  “Support from local businesses and partnership with the Village are key to making real, lasting improvements.”  He added that opportunities to contribute will be available throughout the year at all Chamber events.

The campaign was born out of a series of collaborative town hall-style meetings in early 2025, where business leaders, Chamber representatives, and Village officials - including Village Manager Kathleen Gill, Mayor Sharon Torres, and the Board of Trustees - came together to discuss priorities for the community.  One message was clear: the Village needs a more inviting, beautified business district.

“This is the kind of proactive partnership our community needs,” said Chamber Vice President Jennifer O’Neill. “A welcoming environment benefits every business owner and every resident.” President Murphy echoed that sentiment: “This first contribution from the Chamber is a symbol of our commitment to a better Mamaroneck - for businesses, for families, and for everyone who lives and works here.”
