Sgt. Andrew Patrick Smith, formerly of Bronx, NY, passed away tragically on October 28, 2024, at the age of 27. Andrew was an active-duty soldier in the United States Army and had been stationed in Fort Irwin, California since 2022.
Andrew had one of the most extraordinary senses of humor that you could find and could make anyone laugh-and made sure he always did. He was fiercely loyal and was always there to lend an ear and a helping hand to anyone in a time of need. He loved playing video games and basketball with friends, and was an avid sports fan, always rooting for the Giants and Yankees. Andrew loved animals, and never met one that didn’t instantly adore him in return. He was proud to be a husband, and even more so excited to become a father. He was eagerly awaiting the arrival of his son, Luca, in January.
Andrew is survived by his loving wife, Erika, and their unborn son, Luca. He also leaves behind his devoted mother, Christine Santillan and her husband, Franklin, his father, William Smith, and his sister Lauren Smith. He will be tremendously missed by his grandmother, aunts and uncles, his beloved cousins, and all of his family, friends, and countless others who loved him.
