Leonard (Lenny) Wacksman, 97, passed away peacefully at home on May 24, surrounded by his loving family.  His life was defined by unwavering devotion to his family.  Just two days before his passing, he reflected with characteristic warmth and humility: “I had a good run.”

 

Lenny was the beloved husband of Barbara (“Bobby”), the love of his life, with whom he shared 68 wonderful years until her passing.  He was the cherished son of Samuel and Shirley Wacksman and loving brother to Miriam (predeceased).  He is survived by his daughter, Bonnie; his son Jeffrey and daughter-in-law Margo; his son David and daughter-in-law Tatiana; and his adored grandchildren: Alexander, Ashley, Taylor, Spencer, Isabella, Victor, Jake, and Emma.

 

Lenny was a proud graduate of Samuel J. Tilden High School, Brooklyn College, and Brooklyn Law School.  He later earned an LLM from NYU Law School.  He served honorably in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps during the Korean War, earning the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.

 

Professionally, Lenny was a founding partner of the law firm Loeb, Block & Partners, where he served his clients with loyalty, wisdom, and integrity for over five decades.

 

Mary Ellen Milazzo, (nee Abbate) of Harrison died May 24, 2025, at home, after a long, courageous battle.  She was 76.  Mary Ellen was born in Port Chester to Frank and Carmela (nee Santoro) Abbate on January 4, 1948.  She graduated from Mamaroneck High School and was a hairdresser for Cover Girl in Larchmont before a life-threatening sickness befell her.  Mary Ellen is survived by her devoted companion of 46 years, Michael Sottile.  She is also survived by her sister Fran DeMarco and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. 

 

Marian Filip, of Mamaroneck NY, passed away on May 11, 2025, at age 52.  He was born in Fagaras Brasov, Romania on May 18, 1972, to Stefan and Maria Filip.  Marian arrived in the US nearly thirty years ago and became a proud American citizen on January 9, 2013.  He was a talented Master Carpenter known for his beautiful work in Westchester homes and his technical skills building sound studios at Soundtrack NY.  Marian was an avid boater on Long Island Sound, a fantastic grill chef and a Cadillac enthusiast who restored a dilapidated 1956 Series 62 for his wedding.  He loved Naples FL, tailgating at NY Giants games and hiking National Parks.  He was known for his extraordinary grace, strength, kindness and generosity.  He leaves behind his brother Stefan, sister-in-law Doina, nephew Vlad and many aunts, uncles and cousins in Romania, his cousins Radu and Ileana Contiu and their children in Cleveland, his wife Amy Archer Filip, his adoring Archer in-laws, nieces and nephews and his beloved dog Hugh.

 

Radames (Rod) J. Brendolan, a longtime resident of Mamaroneck, NY, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2025, at the age of 101.  Born in Springfield, MA on October 27, 1923, to Giuseppe and Vittoria Brendolan, Radames lived a life of service, dedication, and love for his family and community.

 

Radames proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Pacific Theater. Upon returning home, he married Clara Buschini and later moved to Mamaroneck where he became an integral part of the Village.  As a contributing member of the community, Radames became a proud member of the Village of Mamaroneck Volunteer Fire Department where he ultimately rose to the level of Chief.  He also owned and operated United Garden Supply in Mamaroneck until his retirement.

 

Radames was the beloved husband of the late Clara Buschini, loving father of Judith Ann Reedy and Robert Brendolan, and cherished grandfather of Brianne Herman.
