Claudia A. McGraw (nee Wagner) of Mamaroneck, NY passed away on January 7, 2026. She was 78. She was born in Port Chester, NY on June 25, 1947 to the late Frank and Viva Wagner (nee Lashley).
Claudia is survived by her beloved husband of 39 years, Kevin McGraw, loving daughters, Melissa Falkerson and Meagan McGraw and son-in-law Keith Morales, cherished grandchildren, Travis, Justin, and Megan Carlson, great-granddaughter, Stella Scogna and her adored grand doggie, Sweetheart. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her dear brother William Wagner.
Claudia attended Westchester Business Institute, Pace University, and Iona College where she was awarded a Bachelor of Science with a Certificate in Accounting. She worked for several years at Merrill Lynch doing closings, before moving on to AT&T as a Senior Operations Clerk. It was here that she met the “Love of her Life,” and so did he. Her accounting expertise was often sought out, with her being an absolute wizard at reconciling and balancing accounts, and fixing time reports. She officially retired in 2007.
Of all her countless friends, Claudia was often the best friend to many. Her kindness, generous heart, and sheer joy in being alive was a gift and blessing to all who had the good fortune to know her. When people were in need, she would take them into her home without once counting the cost. Often Claudia would be the one out in front, donating blood or collecting for that company’s charity. In her later years she acted as Treasurer for the Rye Handicapped Association
Claudia was the original shutterbug, as evidenced by the thousands of prints in her friends’ and family’s possession. One of her first jobs was as a salesclerk in a store’s Camera Department. Needless to say, most of her earnings went to buying film and developing it. To say she was into crafts would be an understatement. Claudia was into everything: Baking, Needlepoint, Knitting, Sewing, Crocheting, Stain Glass, and Scrapbooking. One of her many family projects was assembling a special Scrapbook on their 50th Birthday. A great Theater buff, she loved Broadway and would look forward to attending plays with her friends.
She was avid reader of autobiographies, romance, and history books. A lover of European and American History, she was well traveled on both continents. She also had a keen interest in exploring family trees – hers and others.
Claudia was an Anglophile – enjoying all that the British and the Irish had to offer – especially her subscriptions to Acorn TV and Britbox. Those who loved her became practiced in the proper preparation of a hot cup of tea: Black Tetley Tea brewed for precisely 3 minutes with a very level teaspoon of sugar and a small splash of 2% milk in a porcelain cup.
Claudia was a great lover of animals, in particular giraffes.
