Reta Herlyn, of Mamaroneck, passed away on January 24, 2026. She was 90 years old. Reta was born in Philadelphia on May 29, 1935, to Albert & Reta Cudlipp. She received her degree in nursing and spent many years working as a registered nurse at New Rochelle Hospital. Reta was devoted to her family, and they were the center of her life. She is the loving wife of Warner Herlyn, the cherished mother of Mark Herlyn (Debra) and Jeffrey Herlyn (Kristine), dear grandmother of, Mack Herlyn (Kaitlyn), Olivia Herlyn Lucero (Matias), Meaghan Herlyn and Drew Herlyn and great grandmother of Millie.
Barbara “Bobbie” L. Werber, a longtime resident of Mamaroneck, passed away on January 17, 2026, at age 92, surrounded by loved ones. Barbara was born on May 16, 1933, to Irving and Pauline Traub. She was a graduate of Hunter High School and Hunter College, and then continued her education, receiving a master’s degree from the University of Michigan. Barbara worked for many years as a speech pathologist, first in private practice and later at various institutions, including The Sarah Neuman Nursing Home. Later, she reinvented her career and worked as the Director of Placement at the Katherine Gibbs School in Manhattan, as well as an Executive Recruiter for the Duncan Group.
She was a civic-minded, community-oriented woman, dedicated to both the Village and Town of Mamaroneck, where she championed many local causes. Barbara played an active role in At Home on the Sound, where she served on the board and worked to bring key resources to the senior community. She was also an active member of the Mamaroneck Public Library, the Emelin Theatre, and the Mamaroneck Harbor Fest. Barbara, along with her beloved late husband, Fred, were avid sailors and members of the Sheldrake Yacht Club. Her personal passion was tennis, and she played actively, and aggressively, on the tennis courts of Harbor Island.
Barbara passed peacefully with love and gratitude for her family and friends. She was able to tell those who supported her through the end of life that she loved and valued them. It was a warm and gracious sentiment for those who supported her through her journey.
Above all, Barbara is best remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, Great grandmother and friend. Barbara is survived by her cherished children, Rick Werber and Wendi Bost (David Gould); loving grandchildren, Douglas Werber (Madison) and Laura Mackanic (Jonathan); and great- grandchildren, Arden and Lane Werber.
Albert J. Roth died peacefully on January 6, 2026 at Willow Towers Assisted Living in New Rochelle NY. He was born in Mamaroneck on November 7, 1930, son of Albert and Mary Roth. He attended Holy Trinity School in Mamaroneck, Blessed Sacrament High School in New Rochelle, and received a BA in English from Iona College.
Upon graduation he enlisted in the US Marine Corps. He served in Korea as a correspondent for Stars and Stripes. After discharge from the Marines, he returned to Mamaroneck and worked for CBS News, in security for IBM and General Foods, and for the major part of his career for Edward Clausen Security. After retirement he served as a medical courier.
Mr. Roth was caring and thoughtful, a good listener. He always put others first. He had a great sense of humor. He enjoyed participating in community theater, had a thirst for knowledge of current events, and was passionate about raising dogs.
Mr. Roth is survived by his sister Delia (Dolly) Hedlund of Washington D.C., and several cousins.
