Antonio Reca, of Mamaroneck, passed away on April 21, 2026. He was 89. Antonio was born in Rocasecca, Italy on November 11, 1936, to Angelo & Antonietta Reca. He immigrated to the United States in 1958, bringing with him a strong work ethic. A landscaper by trade, his own backyard garden was his personal paradise. He would tend to his garden, giving the utmost care to growing plants and vegetables. Antonio had a truly giving nature. He expressed his love through giving, and planting trees throughout our community and neighboring communities. He was a pillar of the community, a man of integrity with a generous heart. He would give away the vegetables in his garden and was proud to do so. Giving was the hallmark of his character. Antonio is now reunited in Heaven with his beloved wife, the late Rocchetta “Rocca” Reca. He is survived by his cherished children, Carlo Reca (Andrea), Maria Fullinwinder (Stuart) and Angelina Cohan (Christopher), loving grandchildren, Christopher, Peter (Maura), Dax (Mariella), Cody (Catherine), Christina (Brooks), Alex, Chad, Raquel and Scott and great grandchildren, Kelby, Alice, Calvin and Remy. He is the dear brother of Tommaso Reca (the late Joan) and the late Domenico Reca (Rosetta).
Exenia Grace Pirrone, 80, of Mamaroneck, New York, entered her Heavenly home on March 20, 2026. Exenia fought bravely, surrounded by her loved ones for many weeks, before Pancreatic Cancer and Parkinson’s took their toll.
Exenia was born at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Yonkers, New York. Her family later moved to Riverhead, Long Island, where she graduated from Riverhead High School. As head Majorette, she famously twirled her baton in every game and parade. Though her five siblings eventually moved away, Exenia remained the only one to reside in New York and visited Riverhead often. She loved the beach and could frequently be found sunbathing there, earning her the lifelong nickname, “Sandy.”
Exenia lived a life of service, first as a nurse and later as an Ultrasound Tech. She rose to become the Director of OBGYN Ultrasound at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York, where her keen eye for detail saved countless lives. A dedicated professional, she authored research papers and delivered dissertations all over the world. She later founded her own company, providing specialized OBGYN Ultrasound services to many private physicians across New York City.
Outside of her career, Exenia was a talented photographer and artist. She wrote and illustrated a children’s book, “I Am Sugar the Pink Pig, Follow My Adoption Journey.” She also had a passion for collecting and repairing porcelain and composite dolls. Her deep appreciation for
Nature and animals was evident in the menagerie she leaves behind: Sugar the pig, Winnie her beloved dog, two cats, and many chickens.
Above all, Exenia’s greatest joy was her role as a grandmother, Mother, Sister, and Friend. She loved with a big heart and prayed daily that God would watch over her family and keep them safe. She will forever be remembered for her quirky sense of humor and her legacy of strength, persistence, bravery, and creativity.
Exenia is survived by her five children: Anthony Pirrone (Beth), Daniel Pirrone (Tina), Paul Pirrone, Demi Pirrone, and Nik’Kie Pirrone; her four cherished grandchildren: Chynna, Anthony “AJ”, Daniella, and Christina; her siblings: Matteo Cucchiara (Violeta), Alfred Cucchiara (Vera), Brenda Harding (Paul), Colleen Flick (Bob), and Melody Galka (David); and many beloved nieces and nephews.
