The Board of Trustees (BOT) approved the terms of an agreement with LMC Media (LMC) at their August 10, 2026 meeting. The vote was 4-0 with Trustee Kushnick absent. The BOT had already voted unanimously at their April 27, 2026 meeting to authorize Village Manager Kathleen Gill to enter into a memorandum of understanding and eventual contract with LMC. See HERE.
As previously reported (see HERE), the previous arrangements between LMC and the Villages of Mamaroneck and Larchmont and the Town of Mamaroneck ended when the Village of Larchmont pulled out of the Board of Control in 2022. With that move, the three municipalities were forced to negotiate individual contracts with LMC for their services.
Under the general terms of the VOM/LMC agreement (see Term Sheet HERE), the Village will pay LMC a minimum base compensation of $184,350 per year for services that include covering municipal meetings, community events, parades, ad-hoc coverage and performing archival, maintenance and backup duties. If VOM authorizes additional services, there is an annual cap of $250,000.
Payments to LMC will be made monthly and the VOM will release the undistributed franchise fee revenues for the last quarter of 2025 through the second quarter of 2026 once the contract is executed.
The term of the contract is July 1, 2026 through December 31, 2027 which is 18 months. At that point, it will be subject to renegotiation and both parties may then have a better understanding of the future of cable television franchise fees.
