Family and friends gathered on Thursday, May 28th at Enzo’s Restaurant to celebrate together the 143 banners installed around the Village honoring local veterans.  The room was filled with local pride both in our veterans and the community that came together to honor them, their families and their sacrifices.

The “Honor Our Heroes” Military Tribute Banner Program, spearheaded by resident Amy Siskind, brought together all corners of the Village of Mamaroneck including Girl Scouts, the Kemper Memorial Board, American Legion and VFW Posts, the Lions Club and Elks Lodge, LMC Media and Arborn Printing.  The Village of Mamaroneck was also thanked as they paid for the hangers and the Parks and Recreation Department installed the banners on the poles.

Looking for a particular veteran’s banner?  Here’s a list of the honored veterans and the general location of their banner.  See HERE.

The Mamaroneck Observer has published profiles on some of the veterans and their stories are compelling.  See HERE and HERE.
