At the July 13, 2026 meeting of the Board of Trustees (BOT), three new grant applications were approved for submission.  Backed by a comprehensive memo from Assistant Manager, Dennis Delborgo (see HERE), the BOT unanimously approved all three requests to submit the grants.

The first grant application is for a Climate Smart Grant from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC).  The Village is requesting funding for a study to assess the feasibility of additional nature-based solutions in Columbus Park to alleviate flooding.

Also approved was an application to the New York State Department of State for funds to update the Village’s Local Waterfront Revitalization Program (LWRP) which has been “in the works” for years.

The final grant application, also to the NYSDEC, will be for an update to the Village’s Stormwater Management Plan (SWMP) to comply with the most recent State and Federal Standards.

The amounts of the grant applications as well as the local matches are to be determined.
