Trustee Nora Lucas won the right to run on the Democratic line in the November 7 election after beating back a challenge from political newcomer Mallory Chinn. Unofficial results at the Board of Elections website report Lucas capturing 61% of the vote and Chinn receiving 39%. A total of 1,106 registered Democrats showed up to choose their candidate.

But voters aren’t quite done yet. There will be a November rematch with Chinn on the Working Families Party line and Lucas on both the Democratic and Building Bridges Party lines. All registered voters will be eligible to vote on November 7 in the general election.
