Recent Obituaries

Romeo Ferraro, of Mamaroneck, passed away on October 4, 2023, at age 94. He was born on July 31, 1929, to Pietro and Maria Ferraro. Romeo was a hardworking landscaper who was dedicated to his family. He enjoyed gardening and was an avid New York Yankee fan. He is now reunited in Heaven with his beloved wife, Ida. Romeo is survived by his loving son, Peter Ferraro (Jodi Stern); his cherished grandchildren, Peter Jacob Ferraro, and Jenna Lynn Ferraro; his nephew, Jeff Magnotta; and his great-niece Dorothy.


Attilio Renzo, 82, a resident of Mamaroneck, passed away on Sunday, October 1st. Born in Acri, Cosenza, Italy on January 1, 1941 to the late Salvatore and Maria (Ferraro) Renzo. Attilio was a loving, devoted husband, father and grandfather. Attilio is survived by his wife of 52 years, Giovanna (Scaglione), his beloved children, Sal Renzo (Melissa), Rosanna Curcio and Maria DeRaffele (Keith); and seven cherished grandchildren; Christopher & Jaden Renzo, Salvatore and Angelica Curcio, Adrianna, Gabriella and Nicholas DeRaffele. Also surviving, his brothers: Tommaso, Nicola and Antonio Renzo, sisters: Rosetta Capalbo, Lina Covelli and Elvira Coschignano and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his sister Pina Abbruzzese.


Attilio was an auto mechanic by trade that went on to open a business in 1977 with his brothers, Renzo Auto Springs in Mount Vernon. 15 years later, he ventured out and opened A. Renzo Auto Springs in New Rochelle.


Attilio was a fun and loving person to be around, he enjoyed traveling to Italy and Florida, watching Italian soccer games, but above all else he loved his time spent with family. He was hands on with his grandchildren, and always went above and beyond for them.


There was no greater example of an honorable man that exemplified what it meant to be truly selfless, hardworking, unconditionally loving, kind and generous.
