Recent Obituaries

William J. Sheridan, “Billy”, a fixture in the Village of Mamaroneck, passed away December 11, 2023, at age 69.  He was born June 16, 1954, to Henry & Margaret Sheridan.  Mamaroneck was his lifelong home, and he was the son of the former Harbor Master.  Billy proudly served in the Navy from 1971-74 and enjoyed a 43 year career as a driver for FedEx.  He loved to sail and care for his garden but above all else, he enjoyed time with family.  Billy is survived by his devoted wife, Deborah (nee Dahme) Sheridan, cherished sons, Gregory Sheridan (Elizabeth) and James Sheridan (Ashley), and loving grandchildren. Kayla & Ciana.  He is also the dear brother of Joseph Sheridan (Bonnie), Robert Sheridan, Arthur Sheridan (Elizabeth) and the late, Margaret Schollman.

 

Alice Pidgeon Scarangella grew up in Queens New York attending Mater Christy High Marymount College Manhattan and Simmons College there she received her degree in library science.  She worked for book companies and academic libraries until becoming the acquisitions librararian at the Pace University law library.  In 1979 she met her soon to be husband, Stephen Scarangella of Mamaroneck.  They were married and lived in Mamaroneck for 39 years.  They have two sons Alex and his wife Sara, her son Nick, and three grandchildren.  Alice is remembered for her love of reading, especially mystery stories.  She had an eclectic taste in music from Rock to classical with a bit of jazz thrown in.  Perhaps, she is best known for entertaining and making everyone feel at home when they visited.  The parties and barbecue at her home were legendary. She will be universally missed by all!
