Police Department Receives $100K Donation

At the October 26^th Work Session of the Board of Trustees (BOT), Police Lieutenant Mark Gatta reported on a $100,000 donation to the department from the Norman E. Alexander Family S Foundation. 

Gatta said half of the money was designated to replace all 23 expired body armor vests with new heavy ballistic body armor vests, plus replace the single expired shield with 5 new ones.  The other half is designated to fund an officer safety and wellness program.

Gifts and contributions to the Village must be formally approved.  The BOT voted 4:0 to accept the funds and thanked the generous donor.
