Gerald N. Gironda, a lifelong resident of Mamaroneck passed away on April 5,2023. He was 89. Born in Mamaroneck on March 31, 1934 to John and Rose Gironda (née Teti).
Gerald proudly served his country first in the U.S. Marine Corps and then the U.S. Navy from 1952 -56. He was stationed aboard the USS Bennington during the Korean Conflict.
He established a successful general contracting business, engaging in large-scale institutional projects across the NYC Metro Area. He also completed several residential projects including an award winning design by a noted architect. He will be remembered for his inventive and resourceful solutions to seemingly intractable challenges. But most of all for his love of family and friends.
Gerald was predeceased by his beloved wife of 63 years, Roberta in 2019. He is survived by his loving children, Gregory Gironda (Jamie), Jeffrey Gironda (Karen) and Samuel Gironda (Kimberly), cherished grandchildren, Abigail, Elizabeth, Nicholas, Conrad, Thomas and Taylor. He was also predeceased by his dear brothers, Saverio “Sam” Gironda, John Gironda and Ralph Gironda.
